Eat.Local.Food features 10 local caterers at CSU Spur

Eat.Local.Food = the best lunch in Denver on November 10, 2022!

Thirty-one local institutions and 115 individuals were on hand at Eat.Local.Food to meet the featured caterers, hear their story, and sample their food. Thank you to many of you for being there to show your support and commitment to diversifying your food spend.

It was a great day! And more importantly, the majority of the caterers have jobs lined up with anchors and organizations they met

at the event. This year we are implementing a system to measure the impact that anchor spending has on our catering partners’ revenues. We look forward to sharing that data with you.

The tasting event was the culmination of Feeding Anchors, a 4-session training series where the caterers learned about the magnitude of the opportunity to partner with anchor institutions and gained an understanding of what anchors expect from their catering partners. Aurora-South Metro Small Business Development Center, Rocky Mountain Microfinance Institute, as well as Jay Whisenton, owner of Feeding the Multitudes Catering, and Regina Edmondson, owner of CMe Catering, worked with CCWB to develop and deliver the training curriculum and provided 1:1 support to make sure all the caterers are well prepared to work with our anchor partners.

Here is the link to CCWB’s most current curated caterer list. It combines our new co-hort of caterers with caterers who previously completed Feeding Anchors. Detailed information on each caterer is available here so you can see at a glance which caterers are a good fit for your specific needs.

Let us know how we can help you promote our local catering partners to your colleagues. Also, we always appreciate hearing your feedback. The goal is to ensure that your experience is excellent each and every time, so you will be a consistent customer and enthusiastic word-of-mouth promoter for these inspired entrepreneurs.

Special thanks to our Eat.Local.Food sponsors: CSU Spur: Host Sponsor and event planning partner; Presenting Sponsor: Colorado Health Foundation; Floor Sponsor: Denver Economic Development & Opportunity | City & County of Denver; Small Business Sponsor: Zing Credit Union; and Supporting Local Food

Sponsor: National Western Center. The sponsorships covered stipends for the caterers and event supplies, like fully compostable paper products.
